We Are Canadian

Bruce Allen is on the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Committee and new Canadians (specifically Hindi’s/Indian’s) want him
fired for his recent comments outlined below:

“I am sorry, but after hearing they want to sing the National Anthem in Hindi – enough is enough.

Nowhere or at no other time in our Nation’s history, did they sing it in Italian, Japanese, Polish, Irish (Celtic), German, Portuguese, Greek, or any other language because of immigration.

It was written in English, adapted into French, and should be sung word for word the way it was written.”

The news broadcasts even gave the Hindi version translation which was not even close to our National Anthem.

I am not sorry if this offends anyone, this is MY COUNTRY – IF IT IS YOUR COUNTRY, SPEAK UP – and pass this along.

I am not against immigration — just come through like everyone else. Get a sponsor, have a place to lay your head, have a job, pay your taxes, live by the rules AND LEARN THE LANGUAGE as all other immigrants have in the past – and LONG LIVE CANADA!’

It’s time we all get behind Bruce Allen, and scrap this Political Correctness crap. His comments were anything but racist, but there are far too many overly sensitive ‘New Canadians’ that are trying to change everything we hold dear.

ARE WE PART OF THE PROBLEM ???
Think about this: If you don’t want to forward this for fear of offending someone, will we still be the Country of Choice and still be CANADA if we continue to make the changes forced on us by the people from other countries who have come to live in CANADA because it is the Country of Choice???
Think about it!

IMMIGRANTS, NOT CANADIANS, MUST ADAPT.

It is Time for CANADA to speak up. If you agree, pass this along; if you don’t agree, delete it and reap the ill wind that results from your complacency!

Sinfully Easy Fudge

Easy and sinful perfectly describes this rich creamy fudge . You can use regular chocolate chips, but fudge deserves good chocolate so do indulge if finances will allow.

INGREDIENTS:

 • 1 Tablespoon butter for greasing pan
 • 1 cup pecan or walnut pieces
 • 1 Tablespoon butter
 • 1/8 teaspoon salt
 • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
 • 7 ounces milk chocolate chips, chopped
 • 11 ounces semisweet chocolate chips or good-quality semisweet chocolate such as Lindt, Tobler, or Hershey’s Special Dark
 • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

PREPARATION:

Line the bottom and sides of an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan with foil and grease well with butter.

Spread nuts on a medium baking sheet and roast until lightly browned, 10 to 12 minutes. While the nuts are hot, stir in 1 tablespoon butter and sprinkle with salt.

Combine the condensed milk and all the chocolate in a large glass bowl or 4-cup measuring cup and melt in the microwave at 50 percent power about 3 minutes, stirring frequently (see Note). As soon as the chocolate is melted, remove from the microwave and stir in vanilla and roasted nuts.

Pour into the prepared pan. Refrigerate to cool and set. Remove from pan, peel off foil, and cut into squares.

Note: To make on the stovetop, simply heat chocolate and condensed milk over low to medium heat in a heavy saucepan, stirring constantly, until the chocolate melts. Then proceed as directed.

Yield: about thirty 1-1/2-inch squares

You can omit the nuts if you wish, I usually do. I also add whatever other goodies I feel like at the moment, such as mini marshmallows, maraschino cherries, dried cherries, coconut, and so on – your taste buds can decide.

Saturday Nite Prime Time Canadian TV – Wha?

This is why the world, including Canadians, see Canada as totally out to boring lunch! – this is primetime Saturday night television on one of Canada’s national tv networks. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against spelling or spelling bee’s, and excelled in them myself in high school, but on Saturday night primetime TV?

I’d rather see kids watching a spelling bee championship than the porn that’s generously offered on TV these days but are there no better alternatives? Come on! Have we nothing better to offer for this time slot ??? How about a good movie, or some good nature programs, or a good documentary even. Fly Away Home is a great movie and is even Canadian made, to name just one good movie! There are so many! Just pulleeze, lose the boring in Canadian!

Making pumpkin ice cream

Not very good video but you get the general idea. Just use some canned pumpkin pie filling, whipping cream, half n half and a bit of syrup of some kind. Mix it up and pour it into the ice cream maker.

It’s delicious

Bummer!

It’s been such a pain in the ass trying to resize my photos and getting here to post again, I can’t remember what I wanted to write about. So that’s it for now.

More garden fertilizer

I went to De’s today and got another 80 kg’s of horse manure. We went to the barn to see the horses but, unfortunately, it didn’t occur to me to take some pix. I was too busy being nervous around the horses and yet wanting to pet them. The older one with arthritis wouldn’t let me touch him. The young filly apparently bites so you have to be careful with her. De is so comfortable with them – I wish I could spend more time with her and her horses.

Took some more pic’s of the garden, though. Would rather have had pix of the horses but maybe when Korny goes to get his manure, I can go with him and get some pix then.

Cambie Community Garden on April 1, 2008

I did quite a bit of work in the garden today and took these videos before I started but I neglected to take another after I’d done. Oh well, next time. We will be planting dwarf apple trees before long.
